Can anyone help me? I have tried and tried to generate more traffic to this site and it seems no matter what I do, we're stuck where we are. It seems like our site where we buy cellphones for recycling should be able to get .gov and .edu links easily, what do you think?

One advantage to .edu pages is that those domains attract a lot of trusted IBLs. EDU spam is getting out of control. Do a Google search for 'ringtones'.

Personally, I don't think .edu links have any more weight than a regular website does. A PR7 is a PR7. I do think, however, they are more trusted because they have a lot more links than normal sites, but the weight given is still the same for the outbound links.

In the actual SERPs, they may have higher rankings and the trust for SERPs may increase because it's a .edu link, but I don't think any extra weight is given to those linked from a .edu site.
